TKPK 4th of July Grand Marshals

June 27, 2017

This year Takoma Park's Independence Committee asked Unity in the Community Initiative founders to be the grand marshals of the parade.

Captain Tyrone Collington, Mayor Kate Stewart and Meaghan Murphy were honored to be part of Takoma Park's 128th consecutive year of celebrating independence day and enjoyed connecting with the community residents.

Thank you to all the volunteers for their many hours of dedicated service.  The Independence Committee did an amazing job of providing a positive environment to strengthen relationships in Takoma Park through an entertaining day of activities in celebration of our nation's declaration of independence.

Special thanks to the Police, Public Works, Recreation and City Administrative Departments in their support to make the parade and fireworks a success.
